One couldn't ask for a better day to ski into one of the AMC Maine Wilderness Lodges!
Light snow started falling after a beautiful sunrise this morning, and temperatures have climbed into the mid-teens this afternoon... it's perfect weather to complement perfect ski conditions!
Groomed XC Ski Trails:
Our groomers have been hard at work since the major snowstorm last week and the ski trails are ALL OPEN with great conditions all around. All trails have about a 16"-20" hard pack base with 1"-3" of groomed corduroy on the surface.
Backcountry Skiing & Snowshoeing:
There is great powder in the woods for backcountry skiing and snowshoeing! Many of the snowshoe trails have been broken out already and are in great condition for a snowshoe hike (Rim Trail in Gulf Hagas, Henderson Brook Trail, Third Mtn Trail) and guests have reported excellent backcountry skiing off the beaten path near Baker Mountain.
All in all it is shaping up to be a fabulous winter here in the Maine Woods. Come play in our winter wonderland - we've got endless miles of both groomed and backcountry trails and enough snow for everyone!
