Trail Conditions - Mon, Jan 7th

Well the great conditions of last week have gotten even better with a few small storms that have added another 6" of fluff to our base.

Groomed XC Ski Trails:
ALL TRAILS ARE OPEN with great conditions all around, they have about a 20" hard pack base with 1"-3" of groomed corduroy on the surface. The wind has finally stopped blowing and the groomers have flattened out the drifted areas, also clearing blow downs and brush from the trails. We're also working on the few wet areas, building snow bridges and filling in the low spots.

Backcountry Skiing & Snowshoeing:
There are still many unbroken trails and roads to explore, full of great powder for backcountry skiing and snowshoeing!  If you're not up for breaking trail many of the more local snowshoe trails have been broken out already and are in great condition for a snowshoe hike on Laurie's Ledge, Rim Trail in Gulf Hagas, Henderson Brook Trail, and Third Mtn Trail. The photos below were from an exploration on the Third Mtn - West Chairback Pond loop along the AT by Gorman Chairback.

Things are looking like it's going to be a fabulous winter here in the Maine Woods.  Come play in our winter wonderland - we've got endless miles of both groomed and backcountry trails and enough snow for everyone!
